James Albert Ford, a spirited soul born on August 20, 1955, in the heart of Maryland, departed this life unexpectedly on December 1, 2025, at his beloved home. An embodiment of untamed energy and fervor, James was known to those fortunate enough to know him as a hip shooter—fearless in his truth-telling and refreshingly candid, a no-nonsense persona who brought joy and authenticity wherever he went.
A self-taught auto mechanic, James embraced his craft with an unparalleled passion. Days spent working on and building cars were not mere tasks for him; they were a profound expression of creativity and intellect. He reveled in the thrill of speed, finding joy in pushing the limits of the very vehicles that bore his craftsmanship. Whether it was a meticulous restoration or a fierce acceleration down an open road, each car was a reflection of his tireless spirit and unwavering dedication.
James leaves behind a tapestry of love woven with his children, Trina, Keisha , James, Brian, Nicole, Johnathan, Brittany, John, Jamar, Jaylen, and Jarrell, who will undoubtedly carry forward his vibrant legacy. His mother, Dorethea, alongside cherished siblings Gary, Charles, Sharon, Darline, and Angie, are left to navigate the world without his infectious laughter and unapologetic honesty. The depth of his absence is measured in the countless hearts of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each touched by the spirited essence of James.
James is reunited with those who have gone before him, including his father, Charles Bernard Ford, James Ford, and his brother, Houston and Together, they form a constellation of love that shines brightly in the hearts of those who remember.
As friends and family prepare to celebrate the remarkable life of James Albert Ford, they will gather at the Corinth Baptist Church in Capitol Heights, MD, on December 20, 2025. The viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM, concluding at noon. This gathering will be a fitting tribute to a man who embraced life wholly, who relished his connection to both people and machines.
In his absence, the world feels a little less vibrant, a bit quieter. Yet, the legacy of James—the laughter, the candid wisdom, and the unyielding spirit—remains a cherished memory for all who were fortunate to know him. He will be missed profoundly, yet his spirit will glide through the gears and on the open roads, forever a part of the lives he enriched.
