Othernile Gilbert Jr.

Othernile  Gilbert Jr., a cherished member of the Alexandria community, peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on August 8, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on November 2, 1947, in Alexandria, VA, he touched the lives of many throughout his journey.

Known for his warm spirit and kind heart, Othernile's legacy will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a testament to the virtues of compassion and generosity, as he consistently offered support and kindness to family and friends alike.

As we celebrate the life of Othernile, ceremonies will be held at Harvest Assembly Baptist Church, located at 8008 Fordson Rd, Alexandria, VA. A visitation will take place on August 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. His earthly journey will conclude with a burial at Bethel Cemetery, located at 1475 Wilkes Street, Alexandria, VA, starting at 12:15 PM.
